Tayto Park

At Tayto Park we have designed a beautiful landscape covering a large tract of land into which is set a magnificent Log Lodge, rare animal displays, unique kids play areas, a tree-house, rope bridges, climbing towers, zip wires, kilometers of meandering walkways, lakes, fountains and ornamental planting. Tayto Park has become one of Irelands most exciting day-out locations for all the family.

Having designed the landscape from scratch, the entire site was re-sculpted and shaped though a combination of detailed drawings and on–site guidance.

A Record Double Gold for Hayes Ryan at Bloom 2015

Double Gold at Bloom. Our garden for Crumlin Children's hospital was awarded Gold in the Large garden category while our garden for Ronald McDonald House Charity was awarded Gold in the Medium garden category.

A record number of gardens at Bloom 2014

See the two major projects that we designed for Bloom 2014. It consisted of an extensive area over three times larger than the largest garden at Bloom. The gardens illustrate how beautiful gardens of distinction, with proper advice, planning and design, can be created within even a modest site.

"Neighbours" - Bloom's largest ever themed Garden

At Bloom Hayes Ryan undertook to design three suburban back gardens and two front gardens, together with actual house facades. The intention is to illustrate choice and possibilities through varying designs, themes and materials.

Woodland Garden with Award Winning Log House

We have recently designed a garden to compliment an unusual architect designed award winning house set in a magnificent woodland setting.

Large Rural Site Example

This is a raised site in a scenic area, extending to over 20 acres. There are magnificent views to a river and distant landscape.

The design involved directing and arranging the car parking and access in a sensitive manner sympathetic with the site, to blend the house into the landscape thought extensive earth modelling.

Three Designs for one Space

For Bloom 2012 we created a separate complete show-garden area. This was a ‘mini- Bloom’ in itself, located at the heart of the show beside the main Bistro area. It consisted of three exquisitely designed gardens to illustrate how a beautiful garden of distinction, with proper advice, planning and design guidance, can be created on a budget.

Garden and Landscape Design Education

As Professional Landscape Architects we have been approached by people who are interested in learning how to create beautiful spaces for themselves. We occasionally run workshops on such topics as Design, Plant selection, Construction and the practicalities of building a garden, Drawing / Presentation plans, and more. Geraldine Hayes has had a role in horticultural education for over 15 years.

Show Gardens at Ploughing Championships

Our Exhibition garden held at the Ploughing Championships was a like a magnet within the crowds. Over 1000 people per hour entered the garden throughout the three day event. Our client found this of tremendous benefit to the town, both in terms of economics and public perception.

An example showing the detailed arrangement of garden spaces and features in the areas adjacent to the house. Each outdoor ’room’ relates to an indoor room. Entertainment Garden Example

The objective was to design a number of separate pleasant sitting out areas which link with various internal rooms. Various surface patterns, materials and textures were used to arouse curiosity and interest and to make the space appear as large as possible.

Hand Rendered Sketches

Examples of hand drawn colour rendered plans. We often use these types of plans for teasing out of the design concept and to convey the character and feel of a proposal to clients.
